Reflective Statement

Hello every one. I woke up to the sounds of monks chanting in Latin from the Catholic network station, EWTN. It was relaxing to lay in bed for a few minutes and absorb the ritual. Take time out to mediate, relax the body and mind through the Spirit.

  1. Good Evening Howell

I love that station! I often listen to the nuns do the "Hail Mary" prayer. I am not catholic, but I find it so relaxing. When mom was really sick I would sit and listen to the nuns before I drove to the hospital and I found that I was not as anxious and could drive without incident. I use to suffer from really bad anxiety attacks and when I drove they would get the best of me. Once I even had to pull over on the NJ turnpike and just sit there until someone came and got me because I could calm down enough to drive. I think it is great that you find comfort in listening to the chants. Have you ever tried doing them yourself? I have a gregorian monk chant cd that I chant along with sometimes. After the chanting I feel so light and refreshed. I think that chanting is a great practice.
I look forward to reading more....
    Jamillah~
